SIX TRACKS
This photo was taken in Potter Co. PA, last fall. It's one of those photos that doesn't mean much, until you know the story behind it. I was walking this road, calling for turkeys. I had noticed the tracks of a bear sow and a cub, back the road a distance, and they had walked the road for hundreds of yards, in the same direction that I was going.
When I came upon this puddle, I was struck by all the different kinds of tracks, in a 6'x6' area. In this little piece of real estate, you can see the tracks of a truck, an ATV, turkey tracks, deer tracks, bear tracks and human tracks. It just amazed me, how everything crossed paths, in this small piece of nature!
FLAG AND SNOW
This is a photo that I really like, just because of the contrast of the colors of the flag, the gray day, the trees and the snow. Taken from the porch of our camp, near Coudersport, PA.
RED BANK
The drought of 2001-2002 brought water levels down to record lows, in south central PA. This is an impoundment called Lake Williams, in Jacobus PA. However, the low water levels brought out a photo opportunity I had never seen at this lake. This is only part, of a very colorful, horseshoe-shaped, clay bank, that had always been under water. With the fall rains, the reservoir is filling and the bank is once again, hidden from view!
